Before & After Photos

The leather on this MR2 was very badly worn on the side, a large hole had developed and the leather was very badly scuffed. The damage was repaired using the Leather Repair Kit and then re-coloured using the Leather Colourant Kit

The top of this sofa had a very large split in it, something which is easier to repair than it looks! The damage was repaired using the Leather Repair Kit and then the colour was replaced using a Leather Colourant Kit.

This leather sofa suffered a cigarette burn that disfigured the leather and burned a hole through it. This is a common problem, but can be easily repaired with the right products. The leather has been repaired using the Leather Repair Kit for the damage and then re-coloured using the Leather Colourant Kit.

This 3 seater leather sofa required a repair to a large tear to the back. Using the Leather Repair Kit, a canvas sub patch in place and then fixed in place. The large gap in-between was filled with Heavy Filler, in thin layers, and then colour applied with a sponge at first and then sprayed on. We used a leather colourant kit instead of the Leather Repair Touch Up Kit this time because the damage was larger than the area covered by a tennis ball.

This Chesterfield arm chair, through general wear and tear, had started to suffer cracking and splitting to the leather. The damage was filled using the heavy filler included in the Leather Repair Kit. When sufficiently filled the colour was then re-applied using a small antique finish kit (as chesterfields have both a base coat and a top coat of colorant).

This leather sofa had two cuts to the leather caused by a Stanley knife. Using the Leather Repair Kit the cuts were repaired and the colour restored using a small Leather Colourant Kit.

This leather sofa suffered a cigarette burn that disfigured the leather and burned a hole through it. This is a common problem, but can be easily repaired with the products provided in the kit.

The leather seats in this Jaguar had suffered some colour loss, with a quick clean, colour match and touch up, the colour was restored and the seats looked as good as new!

The colour had worn off the bolster of the leather seat in this Porsche 911 due to the normal wear and tear associated with regular use. The colour was matched and the affected area restored, quickly and easily, with the Complete Leather Repair Kit.

The colour on this cream Bentley Continental has become dirty and lost it's colour on the drivers side bolster. The leather is first cleaned using the leather ultra clean and then the colour is matched using a cream kit and sponged onto the damaged area.

Repairing the damage

This is the first step in making a repair and is easier than you think!

  1. Determine the size of the damage
  2. Prepare the area by cleaning the surface and trimming away any rough leather
  3. Put the sub-patch behind the leather
  4. Glue the sub-patch securely into place
  5. Use the Heavy Filler to fill any gaps/holes in the leather
  6. Apply the Heavy Filler in a few thin layers to make it smooth with the surface

Matching the colour

Select the colour that best matches your leather when you place your order. This will give you a kit with a pre-matched colour that will be a close colour to your leather. You can then mix in the tints that come in each kit to make it match perfectly.

- Beige

- Black

- Cream

- Dark Brown

- Grey (light to dark)

- Ivory

- Medium Brown (including Light Brown)

- Blue (light to dark)

- Green (light to dark)

- Red (light to dark)

- Tan

- White

Simply select the colour that best matches your leather. You can then match all shades of this colour with the kit from light to dark.

For example, the cream kit can be tinted to match every shade of cream and the kit will also come with tints to match different types of cream – you can add a little red to make the cream more rose/pink. Yellow will make it a brighter more yellowy cream and white will make it pale. Add black to darken it or turn it into beige.

Basically, each kit comes with the right tints to match a huge spectrum of similar colours!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have training or experience in order to use this product? No, the kit is designed to be very quick and easy to use for everyone, regardless of experience or technical ability. The instructions provided with the kit are detailed but easy to understand and follow, specifically laid out to allow members of the general public to easily match the colour of their furniture and apply the product. In addition, for those who would rather order a matched colour directly, we offer a full colour match service.
How do I match the colour of my leather? In the Complete Leather Repair Kit, you get a main base colour that is a general match to your item, i.e. dark brown or cream, and a number of tints that you can add to this in order to tweak the base colour in order to get it to match your leather. Detailed guidance on how to do this is included with the instructions provided with the Kit.
How long until I can use my leather furniture/items again after using this product? Typically as soon as the finish and the colourant has dried completely, the item will be ready for use. Though as a general rule we advise that it is best not to use the item for 24 hours after a repair is being made, this gives time for the finish and colourant to cure properly before being subject to stress.
What is the difference between the Leather Colourant Kit and the Complete Leather Repair Kit?

The Complete Leather Repair Kit is specifically designed to repair then cover smaller damage such as rips, tears, scratches, scuffs, wear or fading. The Leather Colourant Kit on the other hand, comes in a range of sizes and is used where larger areas are being repaired, such as a surface with several areas of damage, heavy cracking on a seat cushion, or a complete re-colour on a car interior for example. The Leather Repair Kit may be needed in conjunction with the Leather Colourant Kit.

Can I continue to clean and maintain my leather item as normal after applying the product?

Yes, once the repair has been made and given adequate time to cure you can use our cleaning and protection products as normal, without causing any problems to the repair. For the best results in both cleaning and protection after making your repair we recommend our Leather Care Kit which combines our Leather Ultra Clean and Leather Protection Cream products, ideal for maintaining all of your leather items.

Leather cleaning kit

I purchased the leather cleaning kit and used it as soon as it arrived, I purposely left a "dirty" area to see the difference, oh wow, I didnt realise just how grubby my 6 year old sofa was!!, its cream in colour and there is only two adults living here with the occasional children visiting and we use a blanket on the seated area to try and keep it clean but inevitably, we can't protect it 100% of the time but now we don't have to as I can clean it as and when I need to without worrying, thankyou for a great product, Im just about to purchase a stain remover for the unexpected mishaps :)

Yes, I recommend this product.
