About Wood Floor Oil
Each of our wood floor oils can be applied to hardwood, solid wood and engineer wood flooring. They’re designed to protect the floor from scuffs, scratches, moisture and general wear & tear.
Unlike a lacquer or varnish, wood floor oils are very easy to apply and can be topped up and repaired simply too. This makes oil a great way for the average householder to protect, enhance and keep their wooden floors looking in pristine condition.
What is the best wood floor oil?
Typically, you won't find a product called 'wood floor oil'. This is because most wood oils are suitable for oiling wooden flooring. You just need to decide what oil is best for your floor.
The decision for what oil is best for your floor should come down to the look of the oil once applied and how hard wearing it will be. Danish Oil looks great, is very hard wearing and will only slightly darken the colour of the floor. Use Tung Oil if you want a 100% natural oil for your floor or use Boiled Linseed Oil for a slightly darker golden look.
Why use a Floor Oil
Floor Oils are a great way to enhance and protect wooden floors at home. A floor oil is designed to soak in, nourish, enhance and provide protection to wooden flooring; and all of this can be easily achieved by the average person at home.
Simply wipe the floor oil into the floor and allow it to soak in. Wipe any excess oil off with a clean cloth then leave to dry. The floor should be re-oiled as necessary and to do this all that is required is a light sand and a clean with our Wood Floor Cleaner. The ease of re-applying the oil and/or fixing stains and spills is one of the key reasons oiling wooden flooring is so popular.
