About Cladding Oil
Our high quality, advanced formula Cladding Oil will protect and maintain all types of timber cladding. It soaks deep into the timber, enhancing the grain and bringing out the naturally beauty in the wood. The oil will dry to a tough, durable, and attractive satin finish and will never crack, peel or flake.
The Cladding Oil deeply penetrates wood to feed and nourish all cladding, providing great water repellence as well as helping to stop the wood from warping, splitting, or swelling.
The main issue people get with cladding is sun and weather damage. Our Cladding Oil contains UV filters to help stop sunlight from fading the cladding, helping to keep its natural colour for longer, and stop it from turning grey.
Cladding should be treated with a Cladding Oil from the moment it is installed to help stop the sun, rain, and weather from causing damage.

Cladding Oil Instructions
PREPARATION – NEW CLADDING
No preparation is required. However, there could be a factory finish that a light sand will remove. Apply some oil to a piece of wood and see how well it penetrates to decide if sanding is necessary. We recommend sanding with our #60 Sanding Pad.
PREPARATION – WEATHERED CLADDING
Clean first with our Decking Cleaner to restore it to its original colour. This will remove all dirt and green staining caused by mould and algae; greatly improving the results of the Cladding Oil.
PREPARATION – PREVIOUSLY STAINED CLADDING
Remove any loose, flaking or peeling old finishes from previously coated surfaces. Our Decking Cleaner and a good scrub with our Stiff Scrubbing Brush should achieve this.
APPLICATION
Surfaces must be clean and dry. Shake or stir thoroughly. Apply liberally with a suitable brush, moving in the direction of the grain. Be sure to cover all the wood, including any edges, for maximum protection.
DRYING TIME
The item will be showerproof in two hours, depending on temperature and humidity conditions. Allow 4-6 hours drying time between coats and apply a second coat in the same way as the first.
CLEAN UP
Simply remove as much product from your brush as possible and then clean in warm soapy water.
Caution: Any cloths used for oiling may spontaneously combust. Dispose of cloths safely after use by washing it in warm soapy water before disposal.
Cladding Oil - FAQ
Q. Can it be used on Western Red Cedar cladding?
A. Yes, it can be used on all types of cedar cladding, including, British and Canadian. It also works fine on all species of wood too.
Q. I have old cladding, how should it be prepared before applying the Cladding Oil?
A. Firstly give it a thorough clean using our Decking Cleaner and Scrubbing Brush. This will remove any green staining caused by mould or algae. If the cladding then looks or feels rough, you could give it a sand using our #60 Sanding Pads.
Q. Will it change the colour of my cladding?
A. Our Cladding Oil is clear and is designed to enhance the natural colour of the wood. So it won't change the colour of the cladding, but it will often make cladding look warmer and brighter as it highlights the natural colours of the cladding.
Q. Can it be used on cladding inside the home?
A. Yes, it works great on interior and exterior cladding. It is important to treat interior cladding with an oil to keep the wood nourished and help prevent it from drying out from central heating systems.
