About Rust Remover Liquid
Our 1L rust remover liquid should be used as a rust remover dip to clean rusty surfaces back to bare metal. This rust removal treatment quickly removes rust and is easy to use. Simply remove loose rust, submerge the rusty item in the liquid and leave for 30 minutes, then rinse with water and leave to dry.
Once the rust has been removed, the bare metal surface should be painted or oiled the same day to help prevent future rusting and extend its life.
Rust Remover Liquid is Suitable For
Our liquid rust remover for metal surfaces can be used to eradicate rust from indoor and outdoor objects. Use on car parts, bike parts and bicycle chains, garden and DIY tools, nuts and bolts, keys and locks, and more.
Rust Remover Liquid Coverage and Shelf Life
Store in a cool dry place, protect from frost and away from direct sunlight.
Store between 10°C and 25°C.
Once opened, use within 3 years. The solution can be reused during this period but may become less effective over time.
How to use Rust Remover Liquid - 1L
Use a wire steel brush to remove loose rust.
Shake bottle well then pour into a suitable container.
Immerse rusty item and leave in solution for 30 minutes.
Remove and rinse with water using a wire brass brush to remove any dark grey residue, then leave to dry.
Repeat process if needed and leave for longer for severe rust.
The surface should be painted or oiled the same day to help prevent future rusting.
For larger items, vertical surfaces, or hard to reach crevices that cannot be dipped, use our Rust Remover Gel.
The solution can be reused over and over to derust other items but may become less effective over time.

Q. When do I use Rust Remover Liquid and when do I use Rust Remover Gel?
A. Use Rust Remover Liquid when you can dip or immerse the item. For larger items, vertical surfaces, or hard to reach crevices that cannot be dipped, use our Rust Remover Gel.
Q. After using the Rust Remover Liquid, why has the rust turned black and what do I do about it?
A. The black residue that appears is carbon. Steel is made from iron and carbon and sometimes the steel will blacken after rust has been removed from its surface. To remove this residue, use a brass brush.
