About Wood Sealer, Preserver & Protector
Our advanced formula wood preserver treatment is water and weather resistant. Once applied, this waterproof sealant creates a durable, invisible barrier which repels moisture, helps prevent cracking and warping and resists mildew. Perfect for all-season protection.
This outdoor wood preserver will repel rain and spills in just 24 hours. A wood preservative will extend the life of your exterior wood providing long-lasting protection for up to 10 years. Our clear wood protection treatment maintains the natural look and feel of exterior wood without altering its colour or leaving a shiny film, giving a matt finish.
Our wood sealer is multi use, meaning you have choices when it comes to applying it to your wooden surface of choice. Apply directly with either a brush, spray or roller. The wood protector can be applied to a wide range of wooden surfaces while also working as a grain end sealer.
Wood Sealer, Preserver & Protector - 5L is Suitable For
All exterior wood.

Wood Sealer, Preserver & Protector - 5L Coverage and Shelf Life
1 Litre will cover approximately 5m2 depending on the porosity of the wood.
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Storage temperature should be between 8°C and 30°C.
Once opened, use within one year.
Sand any deteriorated wood or worn coatings until the surface is smooth and clean. Note: You do not need to sand rough-sawn timber.
For any green stained wood, use our Green Growth Remover to remove the green staining first.
Do not apply the Wood Sealer and Protector to damp wood as this will reduce its effectiveness. Always let the wood dry first.
Shake the product well before use. Apply it directly to the wood using a brush, spray or roller. Apply a second coat within 30 minutes, before the first coat dries. Two coats will create a water-resistant barrier.
Clean brushes or spray equipment with warm, soapy water after use.
While the waterproofing effect may diminish over time due to weathering or use, the formula penetrates deep into the wood, ensuring long-lasting protection for up to 10 years.
To restore or enhance the waterproof effect, reapply the product whenever rainwater stops beading on the surface and begins to lay flat.
Q. What types of wood is this sealer suitable for?
A. Our Wood Sealer & Protector is suitable for most untreated or previously sealed softwoods and hardwoods, including pine, cedar, oak, and teak. It works effectively on outdoor furniture, fences, sheds, cladding, and decking.
Q. Can I use this product on stained wood?
A. Yes you can. Although the sealer is designed to penetrate bare or uncoated wood it does work on stained wood. However, make sure you fully sand the surface down before application to ensure full absorption.
Q. How long does the protection last?
A. With proper application, protection can last anywhere from 3 to 10 years, depending on wood type, weather exposure, and foot traffic. Vertical surfaces and shaded areas often last longer.
Q. Will it change the colour or appearance of the wood?
A. No. The sealer dries clear or with a natural matt finish, enhancing the grain without adding shine or tint. It preserves the natural beauty of the wood without altering its appearance.
Q. Can I apply this over decking?
A. Yes, but we recommend it primarily for non-traffic areas. For high-traffic decking, reapplication may be needed more frequently or use our Decking Oil. For best results, apply in dry weather and allow to fully cure before use.
