Our advanced formula Composite Decking Cleaner provides highly effective results for cleaning & reviving plastic decking, sheds, and fences. It cleans and revives decking made from composites.
The Composite Decking Cleaner can also be applied directly to the surface with no scrubbing required to kill green algae, lichen, and mould. In these instances, simply water the Composite Decking Cleaner over the contaminated areas and leave it to remove the stains!

Our Composite Decking Cleaner can be used as a general decking cleaner, but also used to remove green staining, algae, lichen, and mould from decking. The application process is simple, making it easy to get great results when cleaning decking.
How to use Composite Decking Cleaner
Our Composite Decking Cleaner is a great, all-round cleaner for all composite items in the garden.
The instructions below show how simple it is to use the Composite Decking Cleaner to obtain fantastic results:
- Shake well.
- Using a hosepipe, slightly dampen the surface to be treated.
- Pour the product into a watering can and pour over the decking. Scrub the decking with a stiff bristled brush and leave for 20 minutes for the cleaner to take effect. Alternatively, pour the product into a bucket and apply to the wood using a scrubbing brush.
The cleaning action of the Composite Decking Cleaner will start to break down any dirt, grime, and staining on the decking, and the brush will lift it from the surface of the decking.
Rinse the decking with a hosepipe to wash off all dirt and residue from the Composite Decking Cleaner. Some green staining may still be visible at this point; follow the instructions for killing algae & lichen as a final step.
Removing algae & lichen with Composite Decking Cleaner
If you have green staining on your decking, our Composite Decking Cleaner can kill this growth removing the staining altogether. For best results, clean the decking as instructed above, and then follow the instructions below for how to remove green staining from decking.
- Simply pour the Composite Decking Cleaner onto the affected areas, making sure to saturate the decking in those areas completely.
- Leave the decking for five days for the product to dwell. During this time the Composite Decking Cleaner will start to attack the green staining, breaking it down, and removing the stain from the decking. The Composite Decking Cleaner will also kill any algae or mould on the decking, helping to prevent future growth.
- After waiting five days the green staining will have turned to a type of dust on the decking. Simply brush this off with a stiff bristled brush. You can also hose the decking down with water if needed.

Q. Will it remove green stains from decking?
A. Yes, green staining on decking is typically mould, algae or lichen. Clean those areas first following the normal decking cleaning instructions. If the green staining remains, pour the Composite Decking Cleaner onto the area, and leave it for five days.
Over this period the Composite Decking Cleaner will kill the green organisms and turn them to dust; ready to be swept off.
Q. Can you use a pressure washer to clean decking?
A. Be careful. If not used correctly you can ruin your deck with a pressure washer. Too much pressure can cause the fibres to splinter and lift off.
