How to use Upholstery Cleaners

In this blog, we will discuss the best way to clean upholstery with our Upholstery Cleaner.

Our Upholstery Cleaner penetrates fabric for a deep clean, helping to remove dirt and common household staining from upholstery, carpets, car interiors, accessories, footwear and clothing.

It is water-based, fast-acting and contains no solvents or abrasives, making it safe to use on all fabrics and textiles, as well as delicate materials such as silk and wool.

This short video shows you the steps required to get the best results when cleaning upholstery.

How it works

Our Upholstery Cleaner works by loosening the dirt and stain molecules that latch onto fibres, allowing them to be easily wiped off. This unique cleaning action makes the product totally safe to use without causing any damage to the surface it is applied to as there is no need to over rub or scrub.

Upholstery Cleaner instructions

Spray the Upholstery Cleaner onto the fabric so the area becomes slightly wet.

To activate the cleaner, agitate the fabric using a Cleaning Brush or Microfibre Cloth and leave it to dwell for 15 minutes. As the product dwells, it will start to loosen the dirt so it can be easily wiped away.

Use a clean Microfibre Cloth to wipe over the surface of the fabric to remove the dirt.

Rinse the cleaned area with warm water and allow to dry.

If the fabric is still dirty, keep repeating these steps until it is clean.

Cleaning stains from upholstery

As well as being a general fabric cleaner, our Upholstery Cleaner is also excellent at removing stains from fabric materials, such as: tomato ketchup, blood, grease, rust, fruit juices, fizzy drinks, alcohol, grass, tea, coffee, chocolate, sweets, and many more common household stains.

Stain Removal Instructions

Spray the Upholstery Cleaner onto the stain and agitate with a Cleaning Brush for a few minutes, then allow to dwell for 15 minutes. Re-wet the stained area if needed.

Gently agitate the stain, again and then blot the stain with a clean, dry cloth to remove the loosened stain particles.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water and a clean cloth to remove any excess staining.

How often should you use an upholstery cleaner?

We recommend deep cleaning your upholstery once a year.

For general maintenance, a quick hoover to remove dust and a wipe down with a damp cloth is enough to keep it clean on a weekly basis.

After using an Upholstery Cleaner

After using the Upholstery Cleaner, allow the fabric to dry and apply our Carpet & Upholstery Protector. This will help to protect all your fabric items against all liquid and food-based staining, as well as the build-up of dirt.
