The process of employing silver-embedded protection for furniture is a simple and cost effective way of protecting leather items from spreading germs, as the properties of the colloidal silver within the formula kill 99.9% of MSRA and E.coli in 24 hours.
Silver has long been known for its sanitising, anti-bacterial effects. The Silver microparticles are suspended in the solution and once applied to the leather, remain on the surface and are totally invisible and non-toxic.
Any bacteria that then land on the protective barrier absorb silver ions which then work to inhibit the metabolism within the bacteria cells in what is commonly referred to as the Oligodynamic effect. By this process the silver reacts with enzymes within the bacteria cell, rendering them inactive, preventing cell division and destroying it.
