As you can see the results were amazing.

This a photograph shows bolster wear on the drivers seat in a Mazda RX8.

First of all we colour matched the leather by eye, preppered and alcoholed the leather, applied around 3 thin layers of Leather Binder followed by 2 thin layers of Flexi Fill, sanded smooth and air brushed on the colour then the lacquer.

Last we applied a healthy layer of protection cream.

This is a photograph of the drivers back bolster from a Vauxhall Calibra.

We simply prepped and alcohol the effected area, used a palm sander to take any roughness away, applied about 10 thin layers of Leather Binder re coloured and lacquered.

The customer couldn’t believe how good it came out when he collected the car.

This again is a prime example of the wear you get on a drivers seat bolster, this is a Golf Gti, the customer actually thought that the leather was unrepairable and that it needed new leather. So when we told him he didn’t he was delighted.

We match the colour, striped the existing lacquer and colour off, repaired the scuffing and re-coloured and sealed the leather.

This customers dog had ripped one of the diamonds quite badly, we were unable to cosmetically repair leather due to the extent of the damage.

Our upholsterer managed to take out the damaged diamond and put new leather in.

The before picture shows the new leather in place with the matched base colour already on, this should always be applied before putting the new leather in.

The after picture shows the finished article where the top coat has been applied.

This BMW 320ci came in with the usual wear to the drivers bolster. We firstly matched the colour. Repaired the damage using the Leather Binder and the Leather Flexi Fill, sanding smooth before applying the colour and finish.

This Jaguar XJ6 came in with the usual wear to the drivers inside bolster, we repaired the damage using the Leather Binder, re coloured and lacquered to match.

This arm worn down through normal everyday use. To repair it we preped/alcohol cleaned the leather degreased then re coloured and re lacquered.

The pouffe cushion was brought it to us by a customer who had spilt oil on it, once we had prepared the leather with the prep and alcohol cleaners we decontaminated the leather using the leather degreaser, its important to do this on any leather you suspect is contaminated with oil as the colour wont stick properly. Once the leather was decontaminated we then matched two colours as it was a two tone leather and applied the two pigments which retained its mottled effect.

This Queen Anne chair came in with a vary badly damaged arm. There was no need to match the colour hear as the antique brown is a standard colour we have so we repaired the holes/scuffing and re antiqued the arm.

This BWM M Sport has scuffing to the drivers inside bolster. We colour matched the leather, prepared and alcohol cleaned the leather, repaired the scuffing/cracking before applying the pigment and lacquer. This type of damage has probably occurred from the owners jeans catching the bolster whilst getting in and out of the car.

This BMW 1 Series has scuffing to the drivers inside bolster. We colour matched the leather, prepared and alcohol cleaned the leather, repaired the scuffing/cracking before applying the pigment and lacquer.

This Jaguar XK8 came in with scuffing and colour loss to the drivers bolster. We colour matched the leather, repaired the damage and sprayed the colour and lacquer on to match.

This Range Rover came in with general wear and tear also there was quite a lot of dye transfer on the seats from dark clothing. Unfortunately you can’t actually see the damage that well from the photograph. We restored the front 2 seats, repaired a few small clicks in the back seats to bring the seats up like new. The customer couldn’t believe how well they had come out.

This Porsche Boxter came in to have the seam sewn up. When we took a closer look we realized the side panel would need to be changed.

We stripped the seat down unpicked the panel, matched the leather and coloured it to match the rest of the car.

This Alfa came in with damage to the stitching. We managed to hand sew the seam using 2 curved slipping needles to make it look as good as new.

Just a close up of the damage to the antique chairs.

These antique chairs were brought in to us to be restored. The customer didn’t want them recovered as he wanted to keep them original.

As you can see from the before photograph they were pretty beaten up.

The first thing we had to do was match the colours. As you can see the chairs have a mottled effect, so we needed to match both the base and top colours. To match the base colour we had to rub an area of the top colour off to show the base colour underneath.

Once the colours were matched we proceeded to repair the seats, we used the heavy filler and light filler to fill the cracked leather.

Last we re sprayed the seats using the two colours to produce a two tone effect and finished it with a semi matt finish.

The chesterfield in this photograph simply needed the seating cushion Dacron wrapped.

This is done by removing the cover from the cushion and wrapping it in the Dacron. This basically adds firmness to the seat cushion.

This two tone back rest cushion came in to us with a large area of the top coat rubbed off. Upon further inspection we realized there was grease in the leather.

We prepared the leather using the leather prep and alcohol cleaners. Next we used the leather degreaser which extracts the grease from the leather. The reason we need to extract the grease first is if we were to just re-spray the colour onto the area effected the grease in the leather would prevent the colour from sticking properly.

Once the leather was degreased we matched the colour, re sprayed and re-lacquered to make the repair look invisible.

We took this Pendragon suite in with quite a large surface cut. We prepared the cushion using leather prep and alcohol cleaner. Next we applied a thin layer of heavy filler to the cut, just bringing it level with the surface of the leather. We colour matched the cushion then sprayed and lacquered to make it look new again.

Finally for added protection we applied a coat of our leather protection cream.

This Mercedes CLK 320 came in with colour loss to the back seat caused by a child’s car seat. She thought we would have replace the leather so when I told her it could be repaired she was delighted!

What made our job a little trickier was the fact her brother had tried to paint it himself using poster paints.

We used the prep to remove the paint. Matched the colour exactly and re-sprayed the areas of damage, we then sprayed a semi-matt finish over the repairs to seal our colour.

Last of all we applied a layer of protection cream to the seats to help stop that sort of damage re occurring as quick.

The leather has become very badly faded and scuffed over the years. Our customer requested the leather to be restored so that it kept an aged look. To achieve this we cleaned the leatehr first with the leather ultra clean, then restored the colour with a medium brown re-colouring balm, and then sealed and protected the leather by applying to generous coats of leather protection cream.

This customer thought her suite was ruined. We went out to her home to assess the damage. Upon arrival we knew straight away that the lacquer protecting the pigment was peeling off.

We stripped the lacquer off using leather prep and re applied a semi gloss finish to match in with the rest of the suite.

The customer was so pleased when we were finished!!

This Bentley Continental GT came in with a worn bolster. We repaired and coloured the bolster to make it look new again.

This was just a small tear at first but over time developed into a large rip. We decided to replace the panel as the damage was so bad. We took out the seat box first, then the staples which fixed the leather into place, unpicked the stitching to get the damaged piece out, and replaced it with a new piece of leather - colour and grain matched to the existing suite.

During transit the arm on the sofa had something heavy resting on it. We took the arm off, unpicked the staples from the bottom and re padded it using blown fiber.

This MG seat had very deep scuffing to the drivers bolster. We matched the colour, filled the damage, re sprayed and re lacquered to cover the damage.

We restored the colour green to these MG Y car seats, and then re-coloured the piping in cream. It takes a bit longer to do, but contrasting piping really sets the seats off.
We have a mobile technician service which covers the North East area from Berwick to Boroughbridge and the coast to Haltwhistle. We can also cover areas just out of this range subject to availability. Typically we visit each of these areas and their surrounding towns and villages on a weekly basis.
