This is part of a large project we carried out for The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. A large part of it was restoring all the leather items in the Lancaster Bomber aircraft. These 2 cushions needed the colour restoring and the signage renewing. The leather pigments were ideal for this masking off a rectangular for the white area and then using templates and the airbrush to outline the lettering.
We went out to this customers house to repair an area of colour loss on the arm of the chair. When we arrived the customer explained that oil had leaked from a scent plug on to her sofa arm.
The arm needed to be degreased before we could repair the colour damage, so we unbolted the arm and brought it back to our workshop for degreasing. Once the arm was degreased we simply sanded, applied 2 layers of Furniture Clinic Re colouring balm (mid-brown) and finished off with a nice coat of Protection Cream.
