Fillers & Glues

|
Leather Glue - Very flexible and strong, used for gluing leather |
 |
The leather glue, once set, is an extremely hard wearing and flexible glue designed specifically for use on leather.
Unlike others glues, this product remains flexible and will never become hard and brittle. This allows you to make repairs on areas of leather that are prone to a lot of flexing, with a reassurance that your repair will last.
It is used to offer strength to a deep scratch repair or to attach backing cloths to the flesh side of leather before filling.

Heavy Filler - Thick paste filler used for filling scratches & holes |
| |
The heavy filler (also called repair compound), can be used to fill any type of damage in leather where the surface or leather has been broken. Common problems it is used for are;
- Cracking – large and small areas
- Holes & Tears
- Scuffs & Scratches
You can also mix the leather colourant with the filler to match the colour of the leather you are repairing.

Grain Copier - For matching the grain patter of leather |
 |
The grain copier is a two part silicone mix. You mix the base and the catalyst together and pour it onto the leather. After roughly 15 minutes the mixture sets as a small pad with an imprint of the leathers grain.
This grain pad can then be used to imprint the grain pattern into the heavy filler to blend it damages such as holes, that otherwise would have a slighlty flat surface.

Light Filler - For smoothing over rough leather |
 |
The light filler is a thin liquid filler used for smoothing over rough areas of leather, such as scuffs and surface abrasions. The light filler once applied (by sponge), dries in about 30 seconds and holds all the fibres together. This then allows the leather to be sanded smooth.
So, as well as fiixing scuffed leather, it can also be used to stick down fibres and other loose bits of leather. Doing this makes for a neater and smoother repair.
